Installation Requirements

Everything you need to know before we begin your garden transformation.

Site Preparation

Power Source Access

Your property must have an accessible outdoor electrical outlet or indoor outlet within 15 meters of the installation area. All systems require standard 120V power supply. If no suitable outlet exists, we can arrange for a licensed electrician to install one.

Clear Site Access

Our installation team needs clear access to all garden areas where equipment will be installed. Please ensure gates are unlocked and pathways are clear of obstacles. For irrigation systems, we need access to your water main connection point.

Underground Utility Marking

Before any digging begins, underground utilities must be marked by your local utility locating service. This is typically a free service in Ontario. We recommend calling at least 3 business days before your scheduled installation date.

Technical Specifications

Lighting Systems

  • Low voltage LED fixtures (12V or 24V systems)
  • Transformer capacity ranging from 60W to 300W depending on package
  • 14-gauge or 12-gauge outdoor-rated wire for optimal performance
  • All fixtures rated IP65 or higher for weather resistance
  • Operating temperature range: -35°C to +50°C suitable for Canadian climate

Watering Systems

  • Minimum water pressure: 30 PSI, recommended: 45-65 PSI
  • Connection to municipal water supply or well system with backflow preventer
  • Smart controllers with WiFi connectivity require 2.4GHz network access
  • PVC main lines and polyethylene drip tubing rated for burial
  • Systems must be winterized annually before first freeze (service available)

Before Installation Day

1

Mark Sensitive Areas

Use flags or stakes to mark any delicate plants, buried irrigation lines, or special landscape features you want protected during installation. Our team will work carefully around these marked areas.

2

Ensure Water Access

For irrigation installations, locate your main water shut-off valve and ensure it's accessible and functional. Our technicians may need to turn water on and off during testing.

3

Arrange Pet Safety

Please secure pets indoors during installation to ensure their safety and allow our team to work efficiently. Installation typically takes 1-3 days depending on system complexity.

4

Review Final Plan

Our project manager will contact you 24-48 hours before installation to confirm timing and review the final installation plan. This is your opportunity to ask any last-minute questions.

Ongoing Maintenance

Proper maintenance ensures your systems operate efficiently for years to come. Here's what to expect:

Seasonal Care

Spring activation and fall winterization are essential for irrigation systems in Toronto's climate. Lighting systems should be inspected annually to check for loose connections and replace any failed bulbs. We offer maintenance packages for hassle-free upkeep.

Smart System Updates

WiFi-enabled controllers receive automatic firmware updates to improve performance and add features. Check your mobile app monthly to ensure optimal settings and adjust schedules based on seasonal weather patterns.

Component Lifespan

LED bulbs typically last 25,000-50,000 hours. Irrigation valves and sensors have a typical lifespan of 8-12 years. Controllers last 10-15 years. All components are easily replaceable, and we keep common parts in stock.
